Blueberry Muffins

I was not too impressed with this recipe for a lot of reasons and I'm not sure how much of the dislike was my fault. I needed to use up some blueberries and I really enjoy and good, sweet, cakelike muffin. These are not that. I'm not even going to post the recipe - in fact, I might have already tossed it. I found it on a blog and the blogger's muffins looked a million times better than mine. Sigh.

I like to find one "perfect"recipe for each of my favorite treats. I have an ideal chocolate chip cookie recipe, a peanut butter one, a shortbread one, a cinnamon roll recipe and chocolate cake recipe...etc. but I have never found a blueberry muffin recipe that I want to make over and over again. I like a sweet muffin and I would prefer a nice domed top on them. Can anyone recommend a recipe? I do have one that I like better than any other and it involved a lot of sour cream. It's delicious and sweet but it's so flat on top that it's not very attractive. So if you have one that you'd like to share...please email me!

Crumb mixture sprinkled on top.

Out of the oven and it's obvious that I WAY overfilled the muffin cups!

Upside down view after they are removed from pan. I had high hopes at this point.

Mmmm...these aren't looking too bad. They look a bit odd but they are smelling good.

The top is so nice, sweet and crunchy.

Bad texture. Not sweet. Very disappointing.

Sorry you didn't like them. I filled my muffin tins just to the top. Hope you find a recipe you like.

Honestly I am never happy with any muffin recipes and so I decided I am not a true muffin person. I rarely ever even think of ordering or buying muffins. I also think that true muffins are not suppose to be sweet and all the ones you buy in stores and bake shops are heavy and very sweet. I think they think Americans love sweets so lets jump in a whole lot of sugar. So my taste buds are a bit confused as to how a real muffin is actually suppose to taste. Know what I mean?
