Magic Cookie Bars

Who hasn't made Magic Cookie Bars?! These have to be the easiest and tastiest cookies ever. I always get rave reviews every single time I make these. There are so many flavors going on here and the texture is ooey gooey but slightly crunchy at the same time. The recipe calls for chocolate chips but I often use a bag of butterscotch chips instead and folks really seem to love that. Sometimes I use pecans but sometimes I use walnuts. I've even used almonds before. Today I used pecans. I always add more coconut than called for and I always sprinkle an extra handful of chocolate or butterscotch chips on top of the final layer. You need to make sure these are totally cool before attempting to cut them.

These are the butterscotch ones. Really adds a unique flavor.

Semi sweet ones. Lots of extra coconut.

Magic Cookie Bars
Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter or margarine, melted
1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
1 (14 ounce) can EAGLE BRAND®
Sweetened Condensed Milk
2 cups semisweet chocolate morsels
1 1/3 cups flaked coconut
1 cup chopped nuts
Directions:
1. Heat oven to 350 degrees F (325 degrees for glass dish). Coat 13x9-inch baking pan with no-stick cooking spray. (I line mine with foil, then spray)
2. Melt butter then pour into bottom of the sprayed 13x9 inch pan. Sprinkle graham cracker crumbs evenly over the melted butter. Evenly distribute chocolate chips over the crumb/butter mixture. Follow with the nuts then the coconut. Finally, drizzle the condensed milk over the coconut. I always follow with another handful of chocolate chips.
3. Bake 25 minutes or until coconut is lightly browned. Cool. Cut into bars or diamonds. Store covered at room temperature.
